Climate Change, Pope Francis, Religion + Politics with Anna Jane Joyner

vor 4 Jahren

Climate Change and the growing priority the environment is playing in religion and politics--from Pope Francis to Rick Joyner--is discussed with Anna Jane Joyner. How concern over the treatment of the environment, global warming, and the changing climate at the hands of man has transcended politics to become a spiritual and religious issue is discussed with Anna Jane Joyner of Here Now, on this Lip News Interview, hosted by Jackie Koppell.

As a Campaign Strategist for Here Now, Anna Jane Joyner brings a gift for crafting narratives and strategies to inspire non-traditional audiences. With a background in climate campaigning, community organizing, motivational speaking, and environmental policy, she is renowned for her ability to engage people of faith in climate action. Anna Jane recently co-led Here Now’s team to create and execute an innovative strategy to amplify Pope Francis’ call to the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics - and all people of goodwill - to act on climate change.
Prior to joining Purpose, Anna Jane led campaigning and digital strategy for MountainTrue. There she co-founded Asheville Beyond Coal, a movement that succeeded in retiring Duke Energy’s Asheville Coal plant and garnered national praise. Known for an innovative approach that highlights the voices of religious leaders, artists, musicians, local businesses, and other cultural influencers, Anna Jane has been profiled by Rolling Stone, Glamour, and MTV. Her work to engage evangelicals was featured in Years of Living Dangerously, Showtime’s Emmy-award winning documentary series on the climate crisis. Anna Jane graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Communication and Rhetoric and a minor in Environmental Studies.
